Winter Heating Tips and Recommendations
Watch Your Fuel Level: You can use much more heating fuel when the temperatures dip.
We recommend not letting your tank go below 1/4 full before placing your next order. During extended
sub-freezing temperatures our delivery drivers are very busy, so please plan accordingly.
Snow Removal: Always keep your driveway and pathway to your fill locations clean of
snow and ice. If you have an in-ground tank, please mark it clearly for us. Plan ahead, order your delivery
before an upcoming snowstorm.
Emergencies: Oil customers, if you get to the point where you know you are going to run
out of oil before your delivery arrives, supplement your oil supply yourself before you run out. It will
avoid inconvenience and expensive restart and other service charges... and more importantly, keep you warm.
Other fuels from the distillate family that you can safely substitute include
diesel fuel (either on-road or off-road) or kerosene (either clear or dyed). A good rule of thumb for
most homes is five gallons of fuel per day during cold weather.
